We do not need a hospitality that is rooted in some sort of politeness. Rather, our hospitality needs to be rooted in solidarity with the sick, the poor, and the alien. Out of brotherly love, we need to have places of refuge where the least of our brothers and sisters are able to seek safety, shelter, and compassion. Followers of Jesus need to practice hospitality. It is one of our many callings, and we are in gross error when we neglect to show that compassion and dignity to others.
